today i got to thinking about aye-ayes.
aye-ayes live only in madagascar.
they have batty ears,
very creepy eyes and hands.
there is a superstition
among the natives of madagascar
that aye-ayes are an omen
of death.
some tribespeople claim
an aye-aye will not hesitate to sneak into your house at night
and use it's middle finger to stab your heart.
for this reason most tribespeople
kill aye-ayes on sight.
evil as they may be,
aye-ayes are pretty naive.
they walk into villages
looking for mangos and coconuts.
hold out your arm,
they will climb fearlessly to your shoulder.
for some reason
they aren't afraid of humans.
even though humans can be bad luck.
